Support
One person builds and answers for Cashout. Write in plain words, say what the screen showed, and you get a reply from a human.
Useful in a first message: your iPhone model, the iOS version, the app version from Settings, and what you expected to see instead. Never send screenshots of anything you would not want a stranger to read — the numbers are yours.
Common situations
- I got a new phone. How do I get my shifts back?
- Sign in to the same Apple ID with iCloud Drive on, then open Cashout. Before the setup screen it looks for the backup file and offers to restore it, naming how many shifts it found and when the last write happened. If you kept a manual backup file instead, use Restore from file in Settings and pick it.
- The backup says it is off. What turns it on?
- The switch is greyed out when iCloud Drive is off for the whole device or when the app is switched off in the iCloud app list. Both live in the system Settings app under your Apple ID. Once iCloud Drive is available again, the switch in the app becomes active and the date of the last backup appears under it.
- A restore said the backup could not be read.
- That happens when a write was interrupted or the file came from a newer version of the app. Nothing on the phone is touched — the app continues with what it has. Update to the latest version and try again; if it still fails, email the file and it can be checked by hand.
- My totals look wrong after I changed a rule.
- Changing rules never rewrites shifts you already saved: each one keeps the split exactly as it was calculated that night. New shifts use the new rules. If you want an old shift recalculated, open it in the log and recalculate it there, one shift at a time.
- How do I cancel the subscription?
- Subscriptions live in the App Store, not in the app. Open the system Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel from there. Cancelling never deletes anything: the log collapses back to the free window, and the calculator keeps working.
- Can I get my data out?
- Yes, two ways. Save a backup file from Settings — a plain JSON file you can move anywhere. Or use CSV export for a spreadsheet with one row per shift. Export is part of Pro; the backup file is free.
Requirements
Cashout runs on iOS 26.0 and later, on iPhone. It works with no network connection. There is no iPad layout and no Mac version.
Reporting something broken
Bugs that involve money are treated first: a split that does not add up, a total that changed by itself, a shift that vanished. If a number looks wrong, keep the shift — do not delete it — and describe the three inputs you typed. That is usually enough to reproduce it.
Questions about tip out itself
How much a house takes, what the percentage comes off, and how a pool differs from a tip out are questions about the job rather than the app. Those are written up here:

Privacy
What the app stores and what it never sends is written out on the privacy page.
