Support

One person builds and answers for Frostlog. Write in plain words, say what the screen showed, and you get a reply from a human.

Useful in a first message: your iPhone model, the iOS version, the app version from Settings, and what you expected to see instead. Contact support in Settings fills in the first three for you.

Common situations

My second device does not show the same freezer.
Both devices have to be signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive on, and Frostlog has to be switched on in the system iCloud app list. After that, sync is not instant: the first copy can take a few minutes, and it only starts once something has actually been saved on the first device. Settings shows the current sync state, so you can tell waiting from broken.
How do I share a freezer with my partner?
Open Settings, choose the freezer, and tap Share. The invitation goes through the normal iOS share sheet — Messages, Mail, whatever you use. The other person taps the link, and the freezer appears in their copy of Frostlog. They need an Apple Account and the app installed; they do not need to register anything with us, and they do not need to buy anything.
What does the other person see?
That one freezer and everything in it, live: what one of you takes out, the other stops seeing. They do not see your other freezers. If you stop sharing, their copy of that freezer disappears — which is honest but worth knowing before you do it.
I changed the layout and my packs moved.
Changing a layout re-files the packs into the new shelves rather than deleting them, and the screen says how many were moved. If the new layout has fewer shelves, packs from the removed ones land on the nearest remaining shelf. Nothing is lost; if a pack is not where you expect, it is on another shelf, not gone.
Which freezer does a setting apply to?
Layout, name and sharing all belong to a single freezer, and the screen names which one before you change anything. Eat this week is the exception on purpose: it looks across every freezer you have, because food in the garage chest freezer goes off on the same schedule as food in the kitchen.
A reminder never arrived.
Reminders are scheduled on the device, so they need notification permission — check Frostlog in the system Settings under Notifications. They are also quiet by design: one digest rather than an alert per pack. If permission is on and nothing arrives for a week, write in, and say whether anything in the freezer is actually near the end of its window.
How do I cancel the subscription?
Subscriptions live in the App Store, not in the app. Open the system Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel there. Cancelling never deletes anything: your freezers, packs and dates stay exactly as they are, and the free list keeps working.
I bought Pro but the app says I have not.
Tap Restore purchases in Settings. It has to be the same Apple Account that made the purchase — a different account in the App Store is the usual cause, and it is easy to miss on a shared family device. If restore reports nothing to restore on the right account, send the receipt Apple emailed you and it can be checked.

Requirements

Frostlog runs on iOS 26.0 and later, on iPhone. It works with no network connection — sync catches up when the phone is back online. There is no iPad layout and no Mac version.

Getting your list out

Settings has a CSV export: one row per pack, with the freezer, the shelf, the date it went in and the quantity. It opens in the normal share sheet, so it can go to Files, Mail or a spreadsheet app. Export is part of Pro.

Reporting something broken

Anything that loses data is treated first: a pack that vanished, a shelf that emptied itself, a shared freezer that stopped updating. If something disappears, do not delete the freezer or reinstall the app — that is the one action that can turn a sync problem into real data loss. Write first, describe what you did immediately before, and say whether the other device still shows it.

Questions about freezing itself

How long things keep, what freezer burn actually is, and what to do after a power cut are questions about food rather than the app. Those are written up here:
